Konami today issued a warning to its users, namely myClub players, expressing concerns over fraudulent websites and social media accounts attempting to obtain users personal information. These scams come in the guise of sites claiming to be affiliated with official PES sites and / or accounts as well as social media accounts claiming to operate on behalf of or in conjunction with PES / Konami accounts. Below you will find tips on what to look out for:
"We regularly receive reports of malicious online behaviours targeting our users. These include instances of phishing sites and malware that claim to offer myClub Coins, GP and/or eFootball Points in a bid to coerce users to disclose personal information such as their KONAMI ID, password, phone number and email address. This information can then be used to access further personal details or hijack user accounts.
A good method of determining whether or not a site is safe is to check your browser's address bar to ensure it is hosted on the official Konami domain (https://www.konami.com/).
Please be aware that these sites and services can take many forms. Some of the more common examples include the following:
・ Websites that mimic the appearance of our official site in an attempt to trick you into sharing your personal information.
・ Websites that ask you for your personal information, claiming that they offer myClub Coins, GP, eFootball Points and/or players. These sites may also claim that they offer entry to certain tournaments and/or campaigns.
・ Any app not affiliated with KONAMI that asks you to share your personal information.
・ Posts on social media that ask you to share your personal information.
All claims of being able to receive myClub Coins, GP and eFootball Points are false.
We have absolutely no affiliation with any of these sites and services, and we advise users to exercise extreme caution not to provide them with any personal information."
Have you come across any sites or accounts of these type? Please do not hesitate to contact either Konami or the authorities.
